I thought it would be fun to start introducing some guitar licks in the style of famous rock guitarists. So for this guitar lesson we’re going to take a look at a lick in the style of Angus Young.
The lick we’ll check out shortly is a fairly straight forward one, and is comprised entirely of notes from the A Minor Blues scale. This guitar scale is a six note scale that is essentially the minor pentatonic scale with a b5 added…
Let’s now check out the lick…
Rock Guitar Lick 17: Angus Young Style Lick #1
There is a bit more rhythmic variety with this lick compared to some of the earlier licks. So if you’re not a fluent music reader, then it’s really important that you watch the video below. (I play the lick to a metronome on the video). After you become very familiar with the notes of the lick, I highly recommend playing along with the video to help you get the right timing.
Have fun!
